The following principles are a statement of the light God has given us on His Word, and they form the basis of the teaching ministry and the life and practices of New Covenant Fellowship:
- Man, created by God in His own image, fell into sin through the temptation of Satan and, in his natural state, is alienated from God. (Gen.1-3; Eph.2:12)
- Jesus Christ is God's Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit in the Virgin Mary. He alone reveals God the Father in His fullness by the Holy Spirit. Through His perfect life, vicarious death, and resurrection from the dead, He has provided full salvation for all who believe. (Lk.1:26-38; Heb.1:1-3; Col.1:19-23; Rom.5:1-2; 1Pet.1:3)
- Those who receive the gift of God's grace by faith are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and baptized by Him into the Body of Christ. Immersion in water symbolizes this reality and is a sign of our submission and obedience to Christ. (Eph.2:1-10; 2Cor.5:17; 1Cor.12:13; Rom.6:1-7)
- Those who belong to Christ make up His Body, the Church. As a Kingdom of Priests we by faith receive the promise of the Father to minister in the power of the Holy Spirit. Through gifts given by the Holy Spirit, Christ continues to build His Church on the foundation of the apostles and prophets. (1Pet.2:4-10; Acts.1:8,38-39; 1Cor.12; Eph.2:20)
- All the Scriptures of both the Old and New Testament are inspired by God without error and are the basis of the understanding of the things of God. (2Tim.3:15-17; 2Pet.1:21; Ps.119:105)
- The Scriptures teach that Jesus Christ will come again to rule the earth. We are commanded to witness of Him to the whole world until He comes. (1Thess.4:14-18; Acts.1:11; Matt.25:31; Acts.1:8; Matt.28:18-20)
- We are commanded to observe the Lord's Supper as a witness until He comes. This Communion also speaks of the unity of the Body of Christ and should prompt us to love one another as He has commanded. (1Cor.11:23-26; 1Cor.10:16-17)
- Pastors and Elders are ordained of God to lead the people of God under the Lordship of Christ. We recognize the oneness we have with all true believers. We also understand the need for fellowship in a specific expression of the Body of Christ in a local area. (Eph.4:1-16; Heb.10:25; 1Cor.12:25; 1Cor.1:2; Gal.1:2)
- Membership in this expression of Christ's Body is for believers who are led to be under the care and oversight of the Pastors God has chosen and who are willing to relate to other members of the body in small group fellowships. (Eph.5:21; Heb.13:17; Gal.6:2; 1Cor.12:26; 1Pet.4:9; Col.2:2)
- Leadership of the Body is ordained of God to follow the direction of the Holy Spirit in equipping the Body of Christ to do the work of ministry. (Eph.4:11-13; Heb.13:17)
- God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. (Gen 1:26-27.) Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person. We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. (Gen 2:18-25)
- We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other. (1 Cor. 6:18; 7:2-5; Heb. 13:4.) We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.
- Any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God. (Matt 15:18-20; 1 Cor. 6:9-10)
- God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. (Acts 3:19-21; Rom. 10:9-10; 1 Cor. 6:9-11)
- Every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31) Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of New Covenant Fellowship.
- This Statement specifically gives New Covenant Fellowship the right and authority to restrict the use of Church facilities and property to uses consistent with the Bible and with this Statement of Faith, as solely determined by New Covenant Fellowship.
