About CAF

About Christian Artists Fellowship (CAF)

Through the Bible, we know that God wills for the Church to be united in his service. Jesus himself repeatedly prayed to his Father for the unity of his disciples:

“…That they may all be one as you, Father, are in me and I in you; I pray that they may be one in us, that the world may believe that you sent me.” - John 17:21

As CAF members, we gather together from a wide variety of denominations to bless and support one another, to celebrate and share the good that we are doing, and to give honor and praise to the Master Artist as we continually seek his will in using our gifts. Led by the Holy Spirit, we unite to support a common mission and agree to respect our differences while celebrating our similarities.

We believe that by supporting one another, and with God’s help and direction, we can bring renewal and healing within the Body of Christ, open many new opportunities to share the gospel and bring about positive transformation within our culture.

What We Believe

We believe that every person has some special creative abilities. While we are not all necessarily called to the artistic vocation--as writer, designer, dancer, architect, painter, musician, decorator, actor, photographer and so on --our unique creative talents are nonetheless intended to be used and developed to bless the lives of others.
“God has given each of you some special abilities; be sure to use them to help each other, passing on to others God’s many kinds of blessings.”
- 1 Peter 4:10
“All of you together are Christ’s body and each one of you is a separate and necessary part of it.”
- 1 Corinthians 12:27 (NLT)
“Before I made you in your mother’s womb, I chose you. Before you were born, I set you apart for a special work.”
- Jeremiah 1:5 (NCV)
“If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.”
- Philippians 2:1-4

We humbly recognize
God, the Master Artist, as the source of our inspiration, the giver and developer of our talent, and the provider of opportunities for us to use our talents.
“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
- Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
"Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above."
- James 1:17 (NASB)

We are committed to using and developing our talents to their fullest and living our lives in a way consistent with God’s character and His Holy Word, so that we may reflect the true, the good, and the beautiful, and thus point others towards Him.
“Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord.”
- Ephesians 5:8b-9
“As the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like him and reflect his glory even more.”
- 2 Corinthians 3:18b (NLT)
“The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.”
- Galatians 5:6 (NIV)
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”
- Colossians 3:23 (NIV)

We are imperfect. Thankfully, God loves to use imperfect ordinary people to do extraordinary things in spite of their weaknesses (or lack of perceived abilities)! We know and trust that He equips us with all we need for doing His will.
“Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.”
- Ephesians 6:10
"My grace is sufficient for you, my power is made perfect in weakness.”
- 2 Corinthians 12:9a (NIV)
“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
- Philippians 1:6b
